1. Alabama Crimson Tide– Last week was their best win of the season and it was also their most complete. They showed they didn’t need to score 50 in order to win and they just simply competed on both sides of the football to put LSU away. Tua threw his first pick of the season but still put together a really nice game to remain undefeated and win the SEC West. It’s onto the Mississippi State Bulldogs today for the Tide at home.
2. Clemson Tigers– Can we start putting more respect on their name? This is the best team in the country that isn’t Alabama and they’re simply rolling right now. Trevor Lawrence has really shouldered the offense with the running game struggling and the defense is really playing as well as we expected them to play. They’re on the road tonight against the Eagles of Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish– Last week was another solid win for them on the road in Evanston against the Northwestern Wildcats and they’re still in the playoff picture right now as the three seed. Ian Book put together another nice performance and helped seal the deal for the victory. There’s no Ian tonight for their showdown with Florida State in South Bend.
4. Michigan Wolverines– The revenge tour continued last week against Penn State and they just keep rolling and getting better as the season goes on. I remember at the beginning of the season, a loyal fan told me in order for Harbaugh to keep his job, he would need wins over Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Penn State and he’s got those. They need to keep winning to make that showdown with Ohio State an epic one at the end of the season.
5. Georgia Bulldogs– I told you they’d be back here eventually, right? For the second straight season, they are champions of the SEC East and will play Alabama in the SEC title game in Atlanta on December 1st in a title game rematch. Last week against Kentucky, they punched the Wildcats in the mouth and took away Benny Snell. If they want to be a playoff team once again, it starts with them winning out.
