2021 Recap: Once again, they appeared to be running away with the East. After an early-season loss to the Oregon Ducks, they cruised into a nice winning streak. People fail to realize that new quarterbacks need time to feel out the offense and that was exactly the case with C.J. Stroud. When he got comfortable, he was leading an offensive attack that was amongst the best in the nation. At one point, C.J. was the favorite to win the Heisman. Over the years, Ohio State has owned Michigan. That wasn’t the case last season to end the year when Michigan finally got over the hump and beat their bitter rivals. What concerned me about them was their defense and the inability to get off the field consistently.
Key Departures: WR Chris Olave, WR Garrett Wilson, TE Jeremy Ruckert, OT Nicholas Petit-Frere, RB Master Teague III, DT Haskell Garrett.
2022 Prediction: If the loss against the team up North doesn’t serve as motivation, I’m not sure what will. I see this team coming out with a vengeance this year. The Big Ten East will once again return to Columbus. I don’t see this offense missing a beat. C.J. is back along with running back Treyvon Henderson and star wide receiver, Jaxson Smith-Njigba. Also, watch for Marvin Harrison Jr, the son of the Hall of Fame wide receiver, Marvin Harrison. Ryan Day hired Jim Knowles to run the Buckeyes’ defense. They could be a playoff team once again if all pans out.
