“(M)ost (V)aluable (P)acker”

2. Aaron Rodgers: It’s another year where this project goes by so quickly! Eight names have been revealed to you and two remain. Just a few days ago, I talked about T.J. Watt and how he took things personally. The same can be said about this next player. These last two seasons, he’s played the best football of his life. He has really sent messages to the franchise who drafted him. Let’s go to Green Bay, Wisconsin. Last year’s number one just moves down a spot this year. Aaron Rodgers is back! He’s claimed the number two spot on the list and enters as my top quarterback entering this 2022 season.

Let’s get the bad out of the way. Remember the Packers’ first game of 2021 against the New Orleans Saints? That was hands down the worst I’ve seen the Packers look with 12 under center. They couldn’t even score a touchdown. After that, the season took a turn in a positive way. They would go on to win seven games in a row. Aaron makes every throw and he throws guys open meaning the receiver he wants to get the ball to could be covered and he’ll throw the ball by a few inches and only his guy comes away with it. Even after all these years, he still throws the prettiest ball while on the run. Nobody is better at dropping the ball in the breadbasket than Aaron. He truly throws the ball effortlessly and it still gets to where he wants it. Even in the elements, I’ve watched him flick the ball as if the wind was nothing. While he’s so aggressive and how he extends plays, Aaron takes phenomenal care of the football. One of his toughest performances of his came just last season in Arizona against the Cardinals. The Packers were without Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, and Marques Valdes-Scantling. Aaron was still able to maneuver even without his top three targets and led the Packers to a win.

These last two seasons have been the best I’ve ever seen him look. 2020, he was on par all year long and won league MVP after leading the Packers to a division title and the one seed in the NFC playoffs. 2021, Aaron appeared to pick up where he left off. In the final seven games of the regular season, he threw 20 touchdown passes and zero interceptions. Aaron also led the league with a quarterback rating of 111.9 and finished the year with 37 touchdown passes and four interceptions. He was awarded league MVP once again and for the fourth time in his career. Aaron has the second most MVPs won by a quarterback and sits behind Peyton Manning in that category.
