Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Rams
Bears: They are the quietest 5-1 team in the league that I’ve ever covered. You hear about everyone else but them. Each week I watch them, I notice that Nick Foles is getting more and more acclimated within the offense. This is a good sign of things to come because they’ve needed that spark within the offense and they’re close to getting it. All in all, the defense is still this team’s backbone. The Bears are the best defensive team in the NFL. Their offense can move the ball down the field, but it’s the defense that puts them over the top and allows them to remain in games. They play as a unit which is so fun to watch. Plus, did people forget about Khalil Mack? He’s still one of the best in the business. Don’t forget about him. They travel west for a Monday night showdown in L.A.
Rams: There’s one knock on them. That’s who their four wins have come against which is the dreadful NFC East. Sunday night was the worst they’ve looked all year because they were punched in the mouth, the offensive line couldn’t handle their business upfront and on the defensive side, the San Francisco 49ers did a great job of keeping Aaron Donald neutralized throughout the game. The NFC West has been one of the more intriguing divisions for me. Seattle is off to a strong start, the defending NFC champs reside in this division, the Cardinals have more people talking and then you have these Rams at 4-2 in second place. The running game has been their best friend again and because of that, the passing game has opened up for Jared Goff. They’ll look to bounce back on Monday at home.
Bears X-Factor: Darnell Mooney– I talked about him and he could be a special receiver in years. If you watch the game against the 49ers, the Rams had a tough time against the speed of San Francisco. I can see the Bears attacking the Rams the same way in using Darnell.
Rams X-Factor: Darrell Henderson- When the Rams unleash him, they are a tough out. He’s just as key for their offense as Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods are. You saw how key he was against the 49ers. I expect him to have that same impact on Monday night.
Final Thoughts: Two defensive stars featured in this one. Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald. They set the tone for their defenses. The Rams need to pressure Foles up the middle. Also, can the Bears start quickly for the second straight week? Furthermore, Both teams struggle to stop the run which I think will be a determining factor in this game. Goff & Henderson > Foles & Montgomery
