2023 Recap: I like what Lane Kiffin is building in Oxford. They were competitive up until the very end in the SEC West which the Alabama Crimson Tide eventually clinched. In their first nine games of the season, the Rebels were victorious in eight of them with the one loss coming against the Crimson Tide of Alabama. There was never a shortage of offense with this group as they would average 35 points a game and they also had a nice tandem in the backfield in Quarterback Jaxson Dart and Running Back, Quinshon Judkins. Their second loss came at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs in November. Ole Miss did make a bowl game and finished their year with a victory in the Peach Bowl over the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Key Departures: RB Quinshon Judkins, WR Jonathan Mingo, LB Tavius Robinson.
2024 Prediction: This will be the best team Lane has had since taking the job in Oxford. I like Ole Miss to pick up where they left off a season ago and advance to their first-ever Conference Title game. Jaxson Dart gives this group a fighting chance each week he steps onto the field. They captured their first-ever 11-win season in program history and with the College Football Playoff now expanding to 12 teams, they truly have a chance. The LSU Tigers, and Oklahoma Sooners are amongst a few of the opponents on the schedule this year along with a huge showdown with Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs.
