Campus Clash: 2024 Big-12 Preview (Part Two)

2023 Review: They entered their final year in the Pac-12 as two-time defending conference champions and wanted to get that three-peat. A total of 22 starters missed time with an injury, including Quarterback Cam Rising who missed the entire year with an ACL tear. Shockingly, they started 4-0 before losing to both Oregon and Oregon State. The Utah Utes finished the year with an 8-5 record which resulted in a fifth-place finish. They ended their year with a loss to the Northwestern Wildcats in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Key Departures: EDGE Chase Kennedy, C Kolinu’u Foaiu, S Briton Allen.

2024 Prediction: You see how much of a force they are with a healthy Cam Rising under center. He will be back and the Utes will get back to their winning ways once again, this time as members of the Big-12. You have the return of Cam along with the experience of Head Coach, Kyle Whittingham and you’re destined to succeed. I expect the Utes rushing defense to remain amongst one of the best in the country. They will be tested early on with a battle against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Kyle has the pieces to take Utah to another conference title game.
