2023 Recap: The Florida State Seminoles were one of the teams I was looking forward to seeing play last season. The opener against the LSU Tigers was quite the way to begin the season. Jordan Travis was sharp and the duo of Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson was a tandem to watch. They had so much talent on both sides of the ball and this was by far Coach Mike Norvell’s most talented roster since taking over in Tallahassee. Florida State was cruising up until Jordan Travis broke his leg later in the season. Even without him, the Seminoles stayed atop the division and won their conference championship against the Louisville Tigers. Despite an undefeated season and winning a conference title, they were left out of the playoffs. Their season ended with a loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Key Departures: QB Jordan Travis, RB Trey Benson, WR Keon Coleman, WR Johnny Wilson, DE Jared Verse, DT Braden Fisk, DB Jarrian Jones.

2024 Prediction: This is a group that will be out for blood in 2024. Though they lost a few key pieces from last year’s team, I still like the Seminoles to handle their business in the ACC. They were able to reload with the number four transfer rate and tenth high school recruiting class. Norvell was able to load up with transfers such as Omarion Cooper from Colorado, Cam Riley from Auburn, and Roydell Williams, Malik Benson, and Terrence Ferguson from Alabama. Their biggest addition was former Clemson and Oregon State Quarterback, D.J. Uiagalelei who will have big shoes to fill in replacing Travis. Two key games to watch for are one against Notre Dame in South Bend, then, they will welcome the Clemson Tigers to Tallahassee.
