2022 Recap: In their past two seasons, they have a record of 23-5. They’ve also won back-to-back titles in the Conference USA. Now, they make their debuts in the AAC this season. Head Coach Jeff Traylor led them to an 11-3 record and has worked his magic with this Roadrunners program. Prior to Jeff taking over, UTSA had a 4-8 record in 2019. In the first few seasons of his tenure, UTSA has a record of 30-10. I referred to them as a track team on the football field due to their speed and ability to score. During the regular season, they scored more than 28 points in all but one game. They would fall short in the Cure Bowl against Troy.
Key Departures: RB Brenden Brady, S Clifford Chattman, CB Corey Mayfield Jr.
2023 Prediction: This maybe their first season in the AAC, but I’m still picking them to win a share of the AAC. Quarterback Frank Harris returns which ignites this entire offense. Frank will also be surrounded with weapons such as receivers Zakhari Franklin, Joshua Cephus and Tight End Oscar Cardenas. Running Back Kevorian Barnes also returns as RB1. This offense will continue to score with ease. I won’t doubt that at all. This could also be an adjustment in the fall with them moving to another conference. They open the season up against the Houston Cougars.
