“Roc(k) Boys”

Jalen Ramsey was such a sought-out prospect coming out of Florida State. While with the Seminoles, he became the first true freshman to start since Deion Sanders in 1985. In 2016, he was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars where he established himself as one of the best playing his position. During the 2019 season, he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams and helped lead them to a Super Bowl in 2021. The Rams have been cap struck in the last few seasons and they have zero draft capital due to trading it all away. Free Agency is around the corner and another big move has taken place! Jalen is headed back to Florida, this time as a member of the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins have agreed to acquire the veteran Defensive Back.

He’s one of the best Cornerbacks to play as we speak. Jalen plays his position with such a physical intensity. At 6’1, he’s a bigger corner and playing against him, you must be physically and mentally ready for what he’s going to bring to the table. Jalen is going to attack you any chance he gets. He uses that length and long arms to his full advantage. Jalen is such a versatile football player. He’s that read and react corner that I refer to, and I say that because he has no issues with making a hit, especially if you’re in his vincinity. Whether it’s man or zone coverage, he sits back, then attacks the football. Remember, he played safety in college before transitioning to Corner full time. Jalen is a magnet around the football and he’s always around the ball. He’s a tackling machine that isn’t afraid to play inside or outside. He’s everywhere. Shuts down the short passing game, he travels down the field with the deep threat receivers, and he can blow up running plays. Nothing gets past this guy. What makes Jalen so special is how he’s able to play the game with strong confidence and swagger. What doesn’t get enough attention is his cerebral side. He’s such an intelligent football player and you can tell he’s an avid film watcher. Jalen is also a talker. He has no problem with letting you know that he stopped you.

I really like this acquisition for the Miami Dolphins and what makes this more appalling is the fact they didn’t have to trade away Xavien Howard to acquire Jalen. The Dolphins have the pieces to make the playoffs once again. A top-three receiver in Tyreek Hill and two shut down corners in Ramsey and Howard. The big question mark is the health of Tua Tagovailoa.
