Week 15 Power Rankings (NFL)

1. Green Bay Packers: It appears as if they’re getting stronger as the final stretch of the season continues. The way their offense is clicking right now is impressing me because they have been unstoppable. Davante Adams is doing his norm. I’ve been more impressed with the other receivers because they’re simply sticking within their roles and doing nothing more. With the Cardinals losing on Monday night, the Packers slipped back into the one seed in the NFC playoff picture. They are closing in on another NFC North division title. The division will be clinched today with a win over the Baltimore Ravens.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tom Brady continued to haunt the Buffalo Bills. I’ve been vocal on social media, the radio and on this website about their defense and how that will hold them back from repeating as Super Bowl champions. They were up 24-3 at one point in that game last week and allowed Buffalo to fight back into the game. Tampa was able to survive with an overtime win and they sit at 10-3. They are one of three teams in the NFC with that same record (Them, Green Bay and Arizona). Tonight is a trap game for them because the Saints have had Brady’s number since he came to the NFC South. Could they land the one seed in the playoffs?

3. Kansas City Chiefs: What a win that was on Thursday night! With their seventh consecutive victory, guess who is back in the top spot in the AFC playoff picture? That was as gritty of a win as I’ve seen from them in quite some time. The offense was able to get it going and put it together when they needed it. On the defensive side, you saw how important Chris Jones is to the defense and why he got the money he did. They struggled to stop the run and rush the passer without blitzing. The Chiefs became the first team in the AFC with ten wins.

4. Los Angeles Rams: Monday night was as massive of a win as they came. Earlier in the year, the Rams were embarrassed by the Arizona Cardinals. That wasn’t the case last week. One thing I noticed was the Rams attempting to actually run the football. It wasn’t anything to brag about, but they did enough to move the ball down the field with the ground game. The offense looked as it did earlier in the year. Their defense was able to consistently pressure and contain Kyler Murray. This could be a momentum builder for them moving forward.

5. Arizona Cardinals: That was a tough loss for them and with them falling, the Packers were able to slip back into the one seed in the playoff picture due to owning the head-to-head tie breaker. We got the news the other day that DeAndre Hopkins will more than likely miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. However, they will get some reinforcements back with Chase Edmunds returning. The Cardinals offense isn’t short of weapons. They still have Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore and A.J. Green along with Zach Ertz. After today, they have two tough games. One against the Colts and the following week against the Cowboys.
