1. Tennessee Titans: I’ve been impressed with them. So many thought their season would be over when Derrick Henry went out with his foot injury. They find different ways to win games whether its with defense which is much improved or a balanced offensive attack. Though their best player might be out, they can still run the football because it will open up the passing game down the field. Right now if the playoffs started, the road to Inglewood would travel through Nashville, Tennessee. How about that?
2. Green Bay Packers: They’re rolling right now. Last weekend against the Seahawks, they pitched a shut out and held that offense to zero points. Aaron Rodgers came back and didn’t look the sharpest. Rust kicks in at times. The defense is improved. I will say that much. I still don’t know if I can trust them and I’m waiting for that moment for them to go back to reality when it’s all said and done. In their last three games, they’ve done a solid job at shutting down Kyler Murray, Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson (though he was coming back from injury). If they can keep this up, watch out. This could be a team I wouldn’t want to face down the stretch.
3. Dallas Cowboys: They’re better when they’re angry and that’s exactly what we saw last weekend when they played the Atlanta Falcons. After being embarrassed the week before to the Denver Broncos, they regrouped and bounced back nicely with a balanced offensive attack and a stingy effort on defense. With the win and Arizona losing to the Carolina Panthers, the Cowboys are one game out of the top spot for the NFC in the playoff picture. This next stretch of games will be crucial. The Chiefs today, the Raiders on Thanksgiving and the Saints after. That’s all within a 12-day span.
4. Buffalo Bills: Coming into the game with the Jets, their offense was slumping. When you sit guys at the line of scrimmage and drop them back, it confuses and stumps Josh Allen. Playing the Jets was exactly what the doctor ordered. The Buffalo offense got it together and picked apart that Jets defense. The offensive line finally gave the quarterback some time to throw from the pocket. This was a good confidence booster. Now, let’s see if they can do this against a better defense when they face the Indianapolis Colts today in a playoff rematch.
5. Arizona Cardinals: After that hot 7-0 start, they’ve cooled down some losing two of their last three games. We always talk about removing guys and seeing how differently they play. You’re beginning to see that when they don’t have Kyler Murray. I like what the Cardinals are doing though. Keep Kyler and DeAndre Hopkins rested until they are both 100 percent. I’d rather have them for the playoffs when it matters the most. Hopefully they can both get back on the field soon.
