1. Arizona Cardinals: They’re the only unbeaten team remaining. As I said the other day, I’m beginning to gravitate to them a bit more. The Rams game told me a little bit more and since then, I’ve been keeping more of an eye on them. The offense can score with anyone and the defense can cover in the backend along with the pass rush getting home to the quarterback. They’ve been the most complete team in the NFC this year. Today, they’ll be in Cleveland facing the Browns. It’s an Oklahoma reunion between Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray in Ohio. That should be a fun game to watch.
2. Buffalo Bills: Now, they said the game last weekend at Arrowhead wasn’t a big game. They knew what they were doing. That was a humongous win for them against a team who’s been a thorn in their sides. The Chiefs beat them in Orchard Park last season and a few months later in Kansas City for the AFC Championship. This is a scary team because the offense is potent with more weapons. The defense for the Bills has also stepped it up and they made life miserable for an offense who makes life miserable for defenses. The Bills are on a four-game winning streak since dropping that opening weekend game to the Steelers back in September.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Rule of life from me to any defense playing their offense. If you’re going to play man coverage against Tom Brady, please make sure you have the pass rushers to get home to him and knock him off his rhythm. Look how long of a day it was for the Dolphins last week. The Eagles put no type of pressure on the quarterback on Thursday night. While the offense is strong, I’m still worried about their defense overall. They’re still struggling to rush the passer and the secondary has been terrible. Long as Brady is there, they will be a contender still.
4. Dallas Cowboys: I’ve been so impressed with them. I remember a year ago, an individual named Joey told me to stop analyzing football when I said the Cowboys weren’t going to win football games if Dak Prescott continued to throw the football close to 50 times per game. For the Cowboys to succeed, they must have a balanced offensive attack and look what you’re seeing now. They’re establishing Ezekiel Elliott a bit more and running the football. It’s been great to see Dak back on the field. Now, the defense! Dan Quinn has had a huge impact on this team. When will teams stop throwing at Trevon Diggs? He’s intercepting everything thrown in his direction. Dallas is cruising atop the NFC East now.
5. Green Bay Packers: They had me scared in week five. For a second, I thought they were going to fall short to the Cincinnati Bengals because of the lack of executing and sloppy football on display. Watching their offense, it still travels through Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams who I now call “pitch and catch”. Green Bay has definitely turned the page after that embarrassing effort in week one. Today, they’ll play the Bears at Solider Field. A team that Aaron Rodgers has dominated in his career.
