2021 ACC Atlantic Preview

2020 Recap: It was another year for them cruising through the conference. What else is there to say? Dabo Swinney will always have his guys ready to play. They won the ACC Atlantic and the ACC conference title game for the sixth consecutive season. At this point, they’re almost a lock to pencil in to play for the conference title. Their only regular season loss took place in South Bend against Notre Dame. Their season ended last season in a shocking loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the playoffs at the Sugar Bowl. That was hands down the worst I’ve seen the Clemson Tigers look under Dabo. With a new season upon us comes a fresh start.

Notable Departures: QB Trevor Lawrence, RB Travis Etienne, WR Cornell Powell, WR Amari Rodgers, OT Jackson Carman & DB Derion Kendrick.

2021 Prediction: I’m still picking the Clemson Tigers to win the ACC Atlantic. This team will still win football games if Dabo is roaming the sidelines. Trevor Lawrence is off to the NFL. This means D.J. Uiagalelei will be the starting quarterback for Clemson. Travis Etienne is also gone which means Will Shipley and Lyn-J Dixon will anchor things for the running backs out the backfield. The two areas of this team I’ll be watching for are offensive line and secondary. The o-line must regroup after losing Jackson Carman. The secondary was torched by Ohio State. The defense will also receive a boost with linebacker James Skalski back in the middle. Their opener against the Georgia Bulldogs is one of the anticipated games of 2021.
