1. Kansas City Chiefs: Their offense looked effortless last week. If you want to play Tyreek Hill in man to man with no help over the top, he will do exactly what he did in a quarter last week in Tampa Bay. At 10-1, they are exactly where many expected them to be. Now closing in on another division title, they’ll have another goal in mind after that’s accomplished and that’s chase a team who’s currently undefeated.
2.Pittsburgh Steelers: I didn’t think they’d ever play. Yes, they’re 11-0, but I left this game unimpressed. Their offense seemed off because they couldn’t punch it in the endzone when they had the opportunity to do so. The defense did its part and handled its business. On the other side, the offense looked flat. Ben threw the ball 51 times but I can’t blame him for that because guys kept dropping passes. The running game also couldn’t get it going.
3. New Orleans Saints: Taysom Hill is now 2-0 as a starter. He didn’t look that sharp, but I don’t think he had to do much considering the defense handled everything against a Broncos team without its quarterbacks. The Saints last lost a game in September. Even when they were 1-2, I wasn’t worried about them because they can reel off consecutive victories at any time. They face Atlanta again today for the second time in three weeks.
4. Tennessee Titans: They are quietly handling business. Two big wins on the road over Baltimore and just last week, they were able to get revenge over the Indianapolis Colts. Derrick Henry is picking it up every single week. He’s one of my MVP candidates at the moment. The Titans take after their head coach who was a tough guy when he played. They’re back home today for a huge showdown with the Cleveland Browns.
5. Seattle Seahawks: At one time, we were seeing a historically awful defense. As of late, the Seahawks are beginning to come around on that side of the ball. The Carlos Dunlap trade is beginning to pay off. Also, they are running the football more. They are getting key guys back at the right time such as Chris Carson. They’ve won two in a row after dropping three of four games.
