“Shine Vegas Bright”

AFC Game Of The Week

Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders

Chiefs: Remember when people questioned where they were? I think people tend to forget that there was no regular training camp or preseason games. In a way, their first four or five games were their preseason. Now, they’re back in regular form. The Kansas City Chiefs are still the best team in our league right now. The balance they display offensively is one thing because as a defense, you know what’s coming and you still can’t stop it. Also, the defense is average at best. They don’t need to be lights out. All they need is to get off the field on third down and all will be well. Right now, Patrick is the frontrunner for league MVP. Have you not seen the numbers? 25 touchdown passes thrown and only one interception. The bye week is over. They’ll handle business on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Raiders: Who would’ve expected them to be 6-3 at this point through nine games? So far, this is the best I’ve seen Derek Carr look since the 2016 season when he really put the football world on notice until he got hurt. I like how this Raiders offense moves the ball down the field. This has become Josh Jacobs’ team. In other words, this offense flows through him. What Dalvin Cook is to the Minnesota Vikings and what Nick Chubb is to the Cleveland Browns, that’s what Josh is to these Raiders. When he gets his carries, he’s making an impact. They grind football games out which still works to this day. The defense has weeks when they dominate, and they’ll also have moments when they don’t show up. It’s another divisional showdown for them on Sunday night.

Chiefs X-Factor: Clyde Edwards-Helaire– In their first meeting, the Raiders locked him down. If you watch him, he impacts the games both as a runner and receiver. Clyde controls the line of scrimmage. He gives the Chiefs a three-down running back.

Raiders X-Factor: Maxx Crosby– I can’t wait to watch him play. The first thing I notice is how his motor is always revved up. He plays until the play is over and done with. What can’t Maxx do? He rushes the passer in different ways and angles and stops the run.

Final Thoughts: When they last met, the Raiders stunned them at Arrowhead. All these weeks later, this is an important game in the AFC West. Look for the Chiefs to attack a Raiders secondary that struggles. For Las Vegas, keep feeding Josh Jacobs because the Chiefs do give up many yards on the ground. This should be fun.

Prediction: Chiefs 35 Raiders 27
