Jadeveon Clowney had a lot of hype surrounding him in his college days at South Carolina. He was making comparisons to DeMarcus Ware at the time. There’s always one play that makes a football player stand out. It was the Outback Bowl against the Michigan Wolverines where he made the tackle of his life. The NFL has been a challenge for the former number one pick because he can’t stay healthy. After a year in Seattle, he’d been looking for his next home. This season, he will reunite with Mike Vrabel in Tennessee. The defensive end is signing with the Tennessee Titans.
If he could stay healthy, he’d be one best defensive players in the league. When healthy, he has a greater impact on his team than he’s given credit for. Jadeveon is a freakish athlete for a man his size. He has the quickness to run after running backs on screenplays and he can drop back to cover and intercept passes. My favorite thing about his game is the relentless effort he plays with each game. I’ve seen him double-teamed and he’ll still find a way to shred the blockers. Stopping the run is what he’s best at. He’ll push running backs further back before they could gain a yard. When it comes to pass-rushing, he doesn’t always sack the quarterback, but he will make his presence felt by still affecting the pocket. Jadeveon is a more athletic Jason Pierre-Paul.
The Titans’ defense was already good. If he can stay on the field, they’ll be strong once again. This signing will bring Jadeveon back to the AFC South. He was drafted by the Houston Texans as the number one overall pick in 2014. It’ll be good to see him on the field again.
