2019 Recap: They were by far the biggest surprise of anyone in the NFL last year. With a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo, you saw an immediate difference compared to the 2018 season. The San Francisco 49ers started the season 8-0 in 2019. It was an improved effort from the offense and the defense that reclaimed their crown as one of the best in the league. They clinched the NFC West for the first time since 2012, the top seed in the NFC and represented the conference in Super Bowl 54. What a year for Kyle Shanahan’s club.
Off-Season Moves: Joe Staley retired, didn’t resign Emmanuel Sanders, traded DeForest Buckner, acquired Trent Williams from Washington, drafted Javon Kinlaw and Brandon Aiyuk.
2020 Outlook: The San Francisco 49ers will win this division once again. The Rams are a question mark, the Cardinals could make a little noise after acquiring Hopkins from the Texans and the Seahawks didn’t do much this off-season to improve their team outside of Jamal Adams. San Fran lost a few pieces from last season and quickly refilled those holes. I see them playing with a chip on their shoulders this year. They remember how they lost the Super Bowl last season.
2020 Predictions
1. 49ers (12-4)
2. Seahawks (10-6)
3. Cardinals (7-9)
4. Rams (6-10)
