Cruise Continued: 2020 NFC North Preview

2019 Recap: Missing the playoffs in back to back seasons prompted them to make changes. Mike McCarthy just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Hiring an offensive minded coach would do wonders for Aaron Rodgers, right? Not necessarily. In Matt LaFleur’s first year, the Packers won 13 games. They also won the NFC North for the first time since 2016 and clinched the two seed in the NFC playoffs. They were a game away from the Super Bowl. Aaron Jones came on strong for the Packers last season and provided a consistent running game. The defense was also improved, but struggled to stop the run in the NFC title game.

Off-Season Moves: Released Jimmy Graham, signed Christian Kirksey, signed Devin Funchess, re-signed Marcedes Lewis.

2020 Outlook: I still like the Green Bay Packers to win the NFC North once again this season. I have a strong feeling that Aaron Rodgers is going to play with a strong chip on his shoulder. Remember, the Packers drafted a quarterback this year and I don’t think Aaron liked that pick. I just hope another weapon will step it up outside of Davante Adams and Aaron Jones. What does the defense do to take that next step? They definitely were better, but can they be more consistent? That’s to be determined.

2020 Predictions

1. Packers (12-4)

2. Vikings (9-7)

3. Bears (8-8)

4. Lions (5-11)
