Stefon Diggs has made a name for himself since coming into the league in 2015. He was a fifth-round draft pick out of Maryland. For the first few seasons of his career, the offense was built around him. He will always be known for his memorable play in the playoffs against the New Orleans Saints in 2018. That play would become known as the “Miracle in Minneapolis”. The last two seasons have been a challenge because the offense has been developed around Adam Thielen. I remember last season seeing Stefon on the sidelines and he didn’t look happy. Body language says a lot. When I did my off-season predictions, I said he’d be traded. He’ll be playing his football in Buffalo next season as a member of the Bills.

When he’s used correctly, he’s an extremely productive receiver. I enjoy watching how he releases himself to get off the line and get down the field. He’s quick with choppy feet, good hands to make every catch and he’s aware meaning he knows what’s going on at all times on the field. He’s a crafty receiver with the ability to adjust during the route to make a play on the ball. Stefon is a big play waiting to happen. There were many plays when I saw Kirk Cousins connect with him on a deep pass down the field. He’s an outstanding route runner. I’ve seen him fake as if he’s about to run one route and he’ll break out to be wide open. The separation is another thing that makes him stand out. He’s an east coast guy that plays with an edge to him.

I approve of this move for the Buffalo Bills. They’ve needed a guy that can go up and get the football. A possession receiver is what I’m describing. Cole Beasley is good, but he isn’t a guy that can go over the top. Stefon can. Josh Allen now has a true number one receiver to depend on. This is a big move for them. With the New England Patriots on their toes, the Bills made a big move.
