Week Three Power Rankings (NCAA)

1. Clemson Tigers– That was a nice win for them last week at home against the Texas A&M Aggies. Their defense was absolutely all over the Aggies holding their offense to just ten points. Trevor Lawrence played under control and took much better care of the football helping lead his team to a dominant victory. Tonight, is a game they can’t take lightly. Syracuse has really given the Tigers a challenge the last few seasons. This should be a fun game tonight.

2. LSU Tigers– Last week, they were on the outside looking in of my power rankings. A week later, here they are sitting comfortably at number two and they deserve it after that big win last week in Austin against the Texas Longhorns. This offense has a chance to be the scariest in the country. They hired Joe Brady who once worked for the New Orleans Saints to be their passing coordinator. He’s helped implement some pro like qualities to their offense. They crushed Texas with their passing game with Joe Burrow leading the way with 471 yards passing and four touchdown passes. They will be fun to watch for the rest of the season.

3. Alabama Crimson Tide– I called their game last week a scrimmage. I think everyone wants to see them play a tougher schedule which I can understand. Maybe things will get more challenging for them when they begin conference play, but I just see them breezing through that as well. That’s how good of a team they are. They won’t face a serious challenge until they face LSU in a few months so expect a zero in the loss column until then.

4. Ohio State Buckeyes– That wasn’t a cupcake game for them last week in the battle of Ohio against the Cincinnati Bearcats. Cincinnati won 11 games last season. Ohio State came out, started fast and never took their foot off the pedal. Their offense is scary good with Fields controlling things. It was a complete win from the start to finish as the defense didn’t allow a single point and pitched a shutout. They face the Indiana Hoosiers today, a team who’s always played them tough.

5. Oklahoma Sooners– Another week, another day at the office for the offense. 700 yards of total offense for Lincoln Riley’s group. Just imagine how scary they can be if they had a defense that was just as consistent as their offense, this is the best team in the nation if you ask me. Lincoln has had quite the life as the Sooners head coach. First, his quarterback was Baker Mayfield, he wins the Heisman. Next, he has Kyler Murray, he wins the Heisman. Now, he has Jalen Hurts who’s been on a tear this year. This is a fun team to watch and they will continue to light up the scoreboard.
