1. The National Championship– Let’s do it again! For the third time in four years, the Clemson Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide will play for a championship. Clemson wants their revenge after being smacked around by Bama in the Sugar Bowl last year. These are the quarterback match ups you dream about wanting to see and in this one, we’ll see two of the best. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence came in and never looked back. It’s hard to believe he’s a freshman. For Bama, Tua Tagovailoa has given the Tide a prolific offensive attack. Both teams are undefeated. The winner will have a perfect 15-0 mark after this one. I can’t wait to see that Clemson defensive line against the offensive front of the Alabama Crimson Tide. This should be fun again!
2. Colts/Chiefs– The Indianapolis Colts are hot right now. They’ve won nine of their last ten games and they went into Houston to handle their business. Can we show Andrew Luck some love and appreciate the value he brings to this football team? The Colts were getting ready for the draft around this time last year. A year later, here they are ready to play in the divisional round of the postseason. The Chiefs are the top seed in the AFC for the first time in 15 seasons. A week off, hopefully they aren’t too rusty. This is a very interesting quarterback match up. This will kick everything off on Saturday afternoon.
3. Cowboys/Rams– This is old-school football match-up right here. This is the one that immediately grabbed my attention right after the bracket was set for the second round. You have Ezekiel Elliott and Todd Gurley, two of the best running backs in the game. Both teams also play defense. This is going to be a physical battle that will be won in the trenches. Los Angeles, California will be the place to be on Saturday night for a trip to the NFC Championship game. This should be a fun game and it can’t get here soon enough.
4. Chargers/Patriots– The Chargers got their revenge and did what the Baltimore Ravens did to them a few weeks ago. They flew across the country and smacked the Ravens in the mouth. One task is complete, and the other is set to take place. I think we can depend on a few things each year and the New England Patriots making the playoffs is one of them. They knew they struggled at the end of the year, but now, it’s a new season and the regular season is in the books. This will be the eighth career matchup between Philip Rivers and Tom Brady. These two teams have met in the playoffs before. Once in 06 and the memorable AFC Championship game when Rivers played with a torn ACL.
5. Eagles/Saints– When they met back in November, the Saints were the hottest team in the league and the Eagles were just trying to get back into the swing of things. The Eagles got torched and the Saints got another win. Two months later, they will meet for the third time ever in the playoffs with a trip the conference title game on the line. The Eagles had to grind out a win in Chicago to close out wild card weekend. The Saints enter the playoffs as the top seed in the NFC for the second time ever in franchise history.
