Week Eight Power Rankings (NFL)

1. Los Angeles Rams– They are still the NFL’s last unbeaten team at 7-0 and last week against the 49ers, they dominated and imposed their will. They’ve lived up to the hype and have continued to show why they are the best team in the league at the moment. These next two weeks are big games for them They face the Packers today at home and next week, they travel to New Orleans to face Drew Brees and the Saints.

2. New England Patriots– Five straight wins and counting and they seem to do this each and every year. They have scored 38 or more points in four straight games and had to grind out that win last week against the Bears. They should continue to roll tomorrow night against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football and throughout his career, Tom Brady has owned the Bills. I look for that to continue. This is just the tune-up before their big showdown next Sunday night against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

3. Kansas City Chiefs– I loved how they bounced back last Sunday night against the Bengals and when they play a complete game on both sides of the football, they’ll be a challenging team to defeat. Mahomes got back to his magical ways, his weapons all got some love and the defense which has been up and down at times this year did their jobs and held a good Bengals offense to ten points. There’s just something different about the Chiefs this year.

4. New Orleans Saints– What makes them so good is how they are able to switch up their styles to match up with their opponents and that’s exactly what they did on Sunday last week in Baltimore. Their offense sustained long drives, they ran the football and their defense has been getting better by the week. These next two games are tough ones. They face the Vikings in a playoff rematch tonight and next week, they welcome the Rams to town.

5. Minnesota Vikings– They’re rolling right now and I like what I’m seeing from them. Kirk Cousins is playing out of his mind right now, Adam Thielen is a top-three wide receiver and the defense is getting back into its regular form. There’s a big game for them tonight at the bank when they host the Saints for a Sunday night showdown.
