Super Bowl LII
(1) Philadelphia Eagles at (1) New England Patriots
The big game will feature the two teams that finished with the top records in their conference this season and they were also the top seeds in their conferences. This will feel like 2005 all over again because 13 years ago in 2005, these two met in Super Bowl 39 and the Patriots won their third Super Bowl in four seasons and the dynasty was just beginning.
It’s incredible where the Patriots started at the beginning of the year with their defensive struggles and losing two of their first four games. Now, we can look back and say what issues? They finished the season ranked as a top-five defense from a statistical standpoint. Their offense just shows up week in and week out and you know what to expect from them. They still managed to be one of the best passing offenses even without Julian Edelman. This just goes to show you the greatness of one Mr. Tom Brady. This will be the eighth Super Bowl that the legendary quarterback will be playing in.
The Philadelphia Eagles. After their loss to the Chiefs in week two, they went on to win nine games in a row and didn’t lose another game until December 3rd in Seattle. They made me a believer after their Thursday night showdown with the Carolina Panthers in October. This has been one of the more complete Eagles teams that I’ve seen in many years. They were balanced offensively and Carson Wentz was really orchestrating an offense that could score on just about anybody it seemed and Jim Schwartz bought a new confidence level and swagger to this defense. Wentz tears his ACL and Nick Foles comes to the rescue. Many thought that the Eagles were done after Carson went down, but here they are.
This is simply just a teaser, there will be much more content as the big game approaches. I will be on the air and I will be taking all your questions throughout. I hope you enjoyed this and don’t forget to become a subscriber today!
