1. AFC Championship- Jaguars at Patriots: For the seventh straight year and the eleventh time under Bill Belichick, the New England Patriots are in the AFC Championship. I think it’s safe to say that it’s not an AFC title game without them, right? They started slowly on Saturday night against the Tennessee Titans and once they got the lead, they never looked back. So when you all made your predictions in August, how many of you had the Jacksonville Jaguars a game away from the Super Bowl? I can wait. They simply punched the Steelers in the mouth and Bortles wasn’t the sharpest quarterback today, but he was able to make a clutch pass when it mattered the most and that’s why they are in this position along with the running of Leonard Fournette. What a game this will be on Sunday afternoon in Foxboro.
2. NFC Championship– Vikings at Eagles: From a record standpoint, these were the two best teams in the NFC all season long. Case Keenum has the Minnesota Vikings a single round away from playing in the Super Bowl at U.S. Bank Stadium which happens to be the home of the Vikings. What a game they won to get here! Just when you think it’s over, Case throws it to Stefon Diggs and he takes it to the house for a 61-yard touchdown run. I have this defense ranked 1B behind Jacksonville. When the Eagles lost Carson Wentz for the season, everyone threw the towel in on them and I said not so fast because they have a very serviceable backup in Nick Foles and in the second half of that game on Saturday against Atlanta, he got it together and put the Eagles in a great position. If you thought the Linc was rocking then, just imagine what it’ll be on Sunday for this game.
Can’t wait to preview these. See you all on Thursday.
