1. Philadelphia Eagles– Eight wins in a row and a record of 9-1 is where the Philadelphia Eagles stand right now. That win against Dallas was just pure dominance last week on Sunday Night Football. This team is so fun to watch in every phase. They can run it, pass it, they can score and they have the fastest defense in the league. The NFC East is there’s and it has been all season. With a win today against the Chicago Bears, they will be the first team to win ten games. It looks like the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC will be traveling through South Philadelphia.
2. New England Patriots– Every single week, they’ve improved. Remember I stated that once they fixed their issues and got the ball rolling, we’d ask that question, what problems? Now, we can ask it. What problems? They seem so distant. Six wins in a row and they’re a win away from clinching another winning season for the 16th time Under Bill Belichick. The defense has improved immensely, the offense is scoring and Brandin Cooks is showing why he was acquired in a trade from the Saints, to be that number one receiver. The champs are heading in the right direction of course.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers– Going into their game against Tennessee last Thursday night, I wondered what type of start they’d get off too because the prior game on the road in Indianapolis, they started slowly but heated up in the second half. That wasn’t the issue against the Titans. The offense started fast and never looked back and the defense came to play and intercepted Marcus Mariota four times. The Steelers are 8-2 and every game for them is so important, especially with the Patriots right on their tales. That game against the Patriots on December 17th will more than likely determine home-field advantage in the AFC and we could see them meet in January in the AFC title game once again.
4. Minnesota Vikings– They have been on the outside looking in of my rankings for so long, I finally decided to show them some love. They have been rolling and are one of the best teams in the NFC with a very physical defense, a good offensive attack and when Latavius Murray gets to run the football, they’re an even better team. They need to continue to stick with Case Keenum, he’s got them in a really good position. Don’t rush Teddy back onto the field. He hasn’t seen game action in two seasons. Their game against the Rams should’ve told people they’re the real deal, especially with shutting down one of the better offenses in the NFL.
5. New Orleans Saints– Last week was good for them because, during this winning streak, they have necessarily been tested. The Redskins were up by 15 points at one time and the Saints fought back for the win. I still think this is the biggest threat to the Eagles in the NFC because of the quarterback play and Drew Brees has experience and that is always an advantage to factor into consideration when playing in January. They’re one of five teams who are in the middle of a winning streak
